Entry Stones
Entry Stones are a type of special item in God of War (2018). These unique stones serve as keys that grant Kratos access to hidden or restricted areas throughout Midgard and other regions. Without the corresponding Entry Stone, the locked gates and chambers associated with them remain sealed and inaccessible.
Description
Entry Stones are collectible key items that typically appear in the Resources ➤ Special Items section of Kratos’s inventory. Each one corresponds to a specific location, such as a mine, stronghold, or storeroom, and must be used to unlock that area’s main entrance. They are obtained by completing quests, side quests (favours), or major story events — often given to Kratos by dwarven craftsmen like Brok or Sindri after certain conditions are met.
Function
- Unlock Locked Areas: When used, an Entry Stone permanently opens a previously blocked gate or entrance.
- Progression Keys: These stones are required to access regions with valuable collectibles, side content, and lore.
- One‑Time Use: Once inserted into a pedestal or gate, the stone is consumed and the area becomes open permanently.

Usage
When Kratos approaches the locked entrance associated with a stone, a prompt appears allowing the stone to be placed. Upon placement, the gate opens and cannot be closed again, allowing free access to the area and its collectibles, challenges, and lore.
Trivia
- Some Entry Stones are tied to favours for Brok and Sindri, requiring completion of multiple quests before they are awarded.
- Entry Stones are not consumed unless used — players may hold multiple stones in inventory until ready to unlock the corresponding gate.
