Shadows are Thieves who use seiðr magic. They attack with magical projectiles, so they prefer to attack from afar. Shadows have low health, so a couple of arrows from Atreus or a throw from the Leviathan Ax are usually enough to take them down.
However, they can move quickly by teleporting to a safer location before attacking. They first appear during the battle against a raiding party of Cannibal Thieves in the River Pass.

These were human Reavers, but now that they've embraced the ways of the Seidr, they can throw magic spells at a distance.

Human thieves totally corrupted by seiðr magic... and for that reason, even more dangerous. They prefer ranged combat so they can cast spells on their enemies. In my opinion, their newly acquired preferences make them more cowardly in their advanced corruption, but I don't know how to use magic like them, so I'm no one to judge.
Atreus's Notes
- They only attack after they've conjured an explosive Seidr magic spell. We should rush them down before they can throw it, or try and dodge.
- If they do create their bomb, Father can disrupt them by throwing his axe before they have time to throw it.
